For writers who have taken Picture Book Essentials or by permission of the instructors.

 

Building on what you have learned about creating a picture book, this follow-up class will build on your understanding the importance of rhythm in the language, plotting, and layout of a picture book.

 

The 5-week class will concentrate on improving aspects of your writing and / or illustrating skills. You will see and discuss visual presentations of successful books. Barbara Lalicki and Steve Henry will share their professional perspectives, and, as you've seen, your fellow students will offer constructive supportive comments and suggestions.

 

The goal is to help you know what makes a good picture book, and help you achieve your goal of creating your own.
